Beginning in early 2024, all Earthdata Login User Accounts may be required to update their password once every 60 days in order to remain active.

How will I know when it is time to update my password?

An email notification will be sent to your email 10 days before password expiration, again 5 days before expiration, and one final time one day before password expiration.

What happens if I don't update my password and it expires?

If your password expires, you will be prompted to update your password the next time you log in. You will be unable to log in or perform any authorizations until a new password has been chosen.
